Mhw most fun weapon reddit What I find most fun about MHGU is the sheer amount of different hunting approach resulting from each weapon having different styles (including Valor/Brave and Alchemy styles, which are introduced in MHXX/MHGU in addition to the existing Guild, Striker, Adept and Aerial styles). You can even jump when dashing, evading breath weapons and getting easy mounts as you can attack while in the air. 🤷♂️ Maybe I should call it the most miserable weapon to play instead? But I still love the serotonin I get from 12 explosions on a monster long gunlance on the other hand is the easiest weapon in the game, while wide is still pretty low in the difficulty scale, if you play slaplance it's not the hardest but come on, it's the GUNlance. Everyone has their own playstyle and every weapon is fun in its own way. They put you in low rank and pace the content so you have time to learn whatever weapon you pick. This weapon hits hard, but good knowledge of monster moveset is required. They all are fun, but have their own learning curves, some steeper than others. Ranged weapons are so OP, they're the "game journalist mode" for this game. The only downside of the weapon is it’s range but you get you used to it super fast and work around it. Just so satisfactory I haven't played iceborn yet and plan on doing so, but i feel like i want a new main weapon for that, but i feel like i picked the most fun 2 weapons right from the get-go but of course that isnt what everybody would agree with. SnS, DB, and Hammer are the most braindead and shut your brain off weapons to use if you want mindless fun LS is fun if you like counters and a bit of proactive play for burst damage. i played around with dex build using bolt of gransax and dragon cragblade, fun. Deceivingly easy to play but hard to master like SnS but yet also more armor skill reliant. It's literally jack of all trades, and I'd say that the best part of the weapon is it's versatility / mobility in a hunt. i know this is your personal list but i really feel like you didnt put much time into your lower ranked weapons. If you master this weapon you'll still hit like a truck. Will probably end up playing the one I think is the most fun but I’m curious. My second most used weapon is SNS and on average it takes 3 jump slashes to mount while jumping from a ledge is an instant mount. Problem solved. Wish MH6 has MHW worldbuilding with Rise level of variety builds. Really there is no best as all the weapons and weapon types are great at what they do but lack where others shine, hammer is great for breaking heads but you'll struggle to get wing breaks and can't get tail cuts, this is where longsword shines as it's great at getting the wings and tail, this is obviously true for all weapons. 162 votes, 198 comments. CB requires a lot of management with keeping the various parts charged and phials full but is rewarding once you get down the mechanics. Sword mode has really high dps but the way you make it highest dps in the game is that when you have the powered sword mode, each hit causes a mini explosion that pops for a bit more damage. I used to love sns. It gives a little bit of variation in your gameplay, and gives you some different sets to build and try out. they're just not the "best"). Once i choose, am i locked in? nope, you can use anything you want. I just prefer to play weapons that are average or higher in teir. Lots of explosives. sword and shield for example, item usage is a huge simplification of one of the most versatile weapons in the game. The Lance is one, if not the most, aggressive weapon, don't let the shield and blocking deceive you, they only exist so that you can input counter and turn your defense into an attack, you also will turn walking into an attack, dodging is also an attack, three in fact, you only leave the monster when it is down, because you won't be needing Rise/sunbreak only convinced me more of that. Every single weapon is "viable". This armament need to take times to practice, knowing the movement of monsters, so that you can maximum you dps, but dw, the comabat consciousness will grow as you play the game. Yet the weapon would just be "glaive" without it. 13 votes, 31 comments. I have only 100 hours on it but I cant stop playing it anymore. In other words what is the most fun for you. There's not much consequence to throwing attacks out with DBs, so they're a lot of fun to play risky with. I prefer the boom. Like try every single weapon and just see how it goes. Hammer has the highest damage stats because it has the highest bloat value at 5. Charge Blade is my personal choice for most fun. What I'm wondering, however, is if any of the weapons feel/look better with the graphical and gameplay additions in World? When I started 4U I was drawn (back) to the Greatsword due to the jumping slash. Hammer, spin to win. Finished the endgame farming for MHW Iceborne (Started last year) and it was fun. Hammer is way more maneuverable, fun as well, I preferred GS. That my friend straight up told me to use a different weapon. Get familiar with a few weapons, I regularly use the Hammer, Glaive, and Switch Axe, but I am also comfortable running with Longsword, Sword and Shield, Charge Blade, Dual Blades, and Hunting Horn. 6K votes, 62 comments. Im having fun and thats why i bought the game and why im playing it. Your mileage may vary though. Go hunt some little beasts and see which one is the most fun. It might take some time to get used to, but I guarantee it is a fun weapon once mastered. . So LS, DS, SNS, Lance, CB, maybe even SWAXE. Just try and if you like it, you like it. I've only played IG in mhw. With A and B, I think that's enough reasons to use this weapon, but I still need to clear one thing first. Now IG is prob. Also you might consider searching for a Safi session. And every weapons difficulty is opinionsted. If you think it's a fun weapon, keep using it and crafting more powerful ones when you can. it's a weapon for people who want heavy defense, a simple but effective set of attacks and explosive punctuation's to everything, Wyverns Fire is also very powerful. I picked it up on my second character and my god this is easily one of the most fun weapons in the game if you use most of your available moves. It's fun to make builds around it because you don't take a lot of meta skills like Weakness Exploit on it and instead get to play around with a whole bunch of other I returned to MHW:I a few months ago and what I did was to do a fresh solo run from start to Fatalis with every weapon (no swapping). Then go on a hunt and see how it works for you. It’s the most fun most satisfying weapon. a) this weapon imo is hard to use because, it has no guard or evasive actions also, it has a relatively ling sheath time. 5)LS why foresight slash imo is the best move of this weapon, the big reach is annoying for MP I know but still very good weapon HH is pretty decent in this game, has decent damage in endgame and ok support. Ranged: In the neutral you have to hit and run with draw slashes. Less mobility than some weapons, and not much for defensive capabilities, but BONKE is excellent. In Iceborne you can have the single best shield in the game as a stupid gun and still have more DPS than almost any melee weapon can dream off, except for certain situations. Tbh I haven’t played all of them to the degree of chargeblade lol but guard points and savage axe and (s)aeds r all just so fun and satisfying. Most of the Valor styles are also a lot of fun and usually very effective: Valor GS, LS, Hammer, SnS, Hunting Horn, and HBG. You should practice more in general. They also removed clagger which probably has a higher impact on breezing through the game than the weapon buffs tbh, especially if you play a weapon that was already great. Fun and strong weapon with some nice After that, most of the weapons are good - comparable to Safi weapons most of the time. I’ve tried most weapons that way and their all pretty fun. This weapon fucks. World is comparable to risebreak, but it did hunting horn the most justice relative to risebreak. Always the disclaimer of any weapon they take the time to learn is the best for any skill level, blah blah blah xD Played only MHW and MHR. I am happy seeing it used more than it has in the past where it was always the least used weapon. Crit Status is generally not very good, but Kjarr Numb SnS doesn’t sacrifice too much tRaw and you don’t need Para decos to get the extra proc (check the pinned album for the build). I use a little bit of everything. Both have very interesting combos, feel controllable and effective (for world, that is). With that said, there are a few weapon types I'd recommend: some monsters i use specific weapons for because the matchup is especially fun/satisfying. Just feels sick to dance around a monster while consistently having to damage it mid dashing and slashing. also try Played every weapon but always have the most fun with Greatsword. Guess that's just me though. SnS is probably the most versatile weapon, but also one of the lesser played ones across the community, and because of that versatility and the AWSEOME perk that you can use potions and items without having to sheathe, gave SnS the stigma of it being associated automatically with medic support builds, which by definition don't do as IG is fine. Just personal preference but the gunlance has more variety of attacks and shelling is just fun. This had a lot to do with my brain which had never played a game that had deliberate weapon combat being incapable of understanding why swords and ranged weapons felt so slow and clunky. Otherwise, quick draw basic combo is your bread and butter. #3: Hammers' sliding spin attacks are gross yet awesome at the same time. o Not the most damaging, but it's a fun one and doesn't care about weak spots so always consistent damage output. The Dual Blades for example have such a short range that you can barely hit flying monsters but the fun of this weapon comes from the evasive nature and the aggressive playstyle it offers. I wouldn't recommend you play one, or not play one. That being said, because of the lack of counters or shields, you may find it more difficult and less safe to use. Really satisfying. The monsters' move sets feels way more realistic than Rise. This poll is very closely related to poll #3 as a whole. I play a lot of weapons, but lance is the most fun for me. 4) Charge Blade: Medium a) I feel like this weapon is considered harder by the community because of the higher skill floor. I however, will shill for Sword and Shield because it's my main weapon. The GS is a slow, but satisfying weapon that has devastating attacks that reward good timing and learning the monsters openings, while the lance can just make you feel like a god, using guard 5 and guard up makes it so you can block almost anything in the game. ) It doesn't look like much but it'll build up towards the next knockdown where you can do the bigboi damage. Loved the bow as well, but not a great starting weapon, pretty build heavy. Ruiner Nergigante weapons are the runner up if the class doesn't have a Gold Rathian weapon. tbh I prefer it in MHGU over MHW/I, but it, HH, and SnS (shield attacks) are the ONLY things that should be anywhere near a monster's head most of the time. As per title, just curious :) Charge blade, everything about it is just Sastifying, the speedy sword mode counter attacks with quickstep+side slash, the ability to reposition at the end of any combo, the heavy chunk of Axe mode/Savage axe, each hit is heavy and you can feel it with, of course landing the AED and SAED is like you just split the earth open. Home for the Monster Hunter: World Reddit community and resource hub What I find most fun about MHGU is the sheer amount of different hunting approach resulting from each weapon having different styles (including Valor/Brave and Alchemy styles, which are introduced in MHXX/MHGU in addition to the existing Guild, Striker, Adept and Aerial styles). Dual blades is probably the most effective for button mashing. Hammer is also decent similar to HH. then played around with int build after the new patch fixed the darkmoon greatsword, fun too. This makes comparisons within a weapon class easy but across weapon classes harder. Aug 26, 2021 · Charge Blade and Switch Axe are fun, especially CB considering I'm pretty good with it, and Bow and Dual Blades are alright. Rapid fire sticky ammo is a trap mainly because rapid fire comes on sticky 2 at best, which is not a triple fire rapid fire (fires two, with the same reduced damage on second shot), and essentially doing the same amount of damage and per ammo as sticky 3 while taking longer to shoot said ammo, essentially doing less damage and KO over time. But for me it depends on your "heart's desire", whichever weapon you are most comfortable with. Sword and shield. Just greatsword. To me, ranged weapons are lvl 10 difficulty, but melee are 5s. But if you have iceborne the most fun thing is you can clutch claw counter attacks to fly onto the monster to get a tenderize or wall bonk easily. It's genuinely really strong, and all Shell Types are well balanced. With the Beyblade move and the fast Dash you have enough fast gapclosers that you can go absolutely ham on the Monster. the item usage makes it useful I second that. Fast ones like LS, IG, SnS, and DB might tickle your fancy. Greatsword in sunbreak has been really fun between strongarm builds and surge builds, but there’s only so much you can do with it. o. Get used to monster attacks so you’ll be able to understand when to attack and when to dodge/reposition. Stuck with LS for the most part. It's not even close. This game isn't a "starter weapon and then move onto the more complex weapon" kind of game. For me Bow and SnS were the most fun to try out new. #1: SnS for me is more fun than most weapons, although I do get great satisfaction out of tackling a mountain and following up with a true charged slash with #2: Greatsword. Gold Rathian's weapons are the best weapons in the game for literally situation. So, convince me why your weapon is the most fun weapon or just tell me what makes you main it! Yeah I like mhw haha but yeah as comment above mentioned it’s popular for mostly really long and continues combos and very good counters or dodges w sheeted weapon in rise it’s the most popular weapon because Capcom kinda forced you to use it since it’s like crazy strong Bow is High Risk High Reward weapon you do ton of damage but you use stamina to attack so attack too much can't roll so you need to learn move set of monster very much and you are long range weapon so get hit take more damage than close range weapon so yeah if you fight level 3 Temp monster they gonna one-shot you pretty much Achieving expert level at any weapon takes a long time and reaching a level where you can't outdamage "better" weapons (dealing the most damage doesn't make a weapon better or more fun in my opinion, it's just objectively the hardest hitting one) because your own weapon choice limits you will take a very long time and you're likely never Playing gunlance with other gunlancers is pretty OP and a lot of fun. But I want to have a ranged weapon, and bow looks fun. I recommend watching some Iceborne Gunlance speedruns. There's no inherent better co-op weapon because every weapon can do good damage. Made me have to learn every encounter on every weapon, was fun for me. A lot of weapons also got boiled down to counter weapons in that game, and I got so sick of being able to reactively press 2 buttons for unlimited get out of jail free cards when a weapon without a super easy counter would've otherwise (rightfully) gotten punished for having bad positioning. And to be honest, I'd be fine with that. Good raw, all green sharpness with very little other, and natural 100% affinity. Other weapons CAN sheathe yes, but they don’t want to do so because they’ll lose quick access to their bread and butter moves. Home for the Monster Hunter: World Reddit community and resource hub Weapons can be just as fun as the others, but it all comes down to your preference Personally I find the greatsword and switchaxe to be more fun than the chargeblade, and I love slamming into wyrm stake with gunlance. (I used the skippable cutscenes mod and automated farming and a BUNCH of cosmetic mods. Thought The greatsword would be boring because of how slow it is. My personal favorites are DB, Bow, CB, SNS, Lance. Decided to try out Generations U on the switch, and the gameplay feels a bit clunkier. the most fun weapon i used in Mhw, just because you can fly trough the air like a maniac and cut everything and anything. I am not speaking from experience in World particularly but that's usually how slime is best used! Insect Glaive needs a lot of thing to do/understand (insect, combo, when to jump, etc). current build now with str build and powerstancing greatswords. Vaal Hazak using Charge Blade: I can guard point almost every attack he has, and most SAED's will stagger him out of whatever he's doing. the only consistent example of this is me using GS on ice alatreon Reply reply Top 1% Rank by size Yeah I agree. 552K subscribers in the MonsterHunterWorld community. My personal choices are Greatsword and Lance, the best attack and best defense. 553K subscribers in the MonsterHunterWorld community. Gunlance was super intuitive to me just spam ground shell combos or wyrm cannon and reload after wide sweep. also im certain you need to put some hours into bow with a good build, that weapon is amazing and so fun to use and probably the most consistent weapon with a ton of utility, you have options I mained exclusively LS for the first ~800 hours of the game - and I still love it - but then I tried out all of the other weapons and while everything has been fun HH just stuck with me. Super High Raw, Very Comfy Sharpness & easy to build for. But ive been learning and I do not regret it. Wall bang into perfect rush is just soooooooo satisfying. Best damage - Heavy Bowgun. Mostly quick attack animations and easy to reposition. I find just switching between a few different weapons really fun. I read, that the Insect glaive isnt the best weapon in terms of Solo play. It's fun to make builds around it because you don't take a lot of meta skills like Weakness Exploit on it and instead get to play around with a whole bunch of other Highest potential is actually Switch Axe but it isn’t a practical highest dps. The damage isn't there without the perfectly timed perfect rush. Counter Peak Performance for more SAED spam and an easy block, Axe Hopper for better SAED aim, Morphing Advance for gapclosing. Reset clagger time, others already mentioned it. While getting that SAED and causing the big boom can be really fun and rewarding, something about hitting that never ending combo with flashy moves is super satisfying and throw on 2 separate status effects via staff and bug is a really neat trick! Pretty much ! Nothing like trying out different weapons and if something seems cool, check Arekkz youtube videos on that weapon (or another creator), because the game won't tell you most moves/things about a weapon 😄 Sword and shield is one of the most intuitive weapons, most other weapons will feel kinda clunky until you get into the rhythm. If you want to try something else out, you always can. The most fun dual blades build I've made was very speed focused. You do damage to do even more damage. I don’t think you need another weapon for your problem. In 3u they were all OP imo, but now if they dont have super high raw most slime weapons work well when they are fast. CB, SA, and IG are the more complex "set-up" weapons you use, but fun when you get it down. Greatsword sheathed however doesn’t mind its draw attack nearly as much as most weapons, which means greatsword sheathed is comparable to other weapons drawn. E gravios from older games which like kirin is heavily armoured all over for weapon bouncing and farts fire gas around itself basically every other attack. Leaderboards are dead. Gunlance is my personal favorite cause you get a ton of damage of the burst combo and wyrmstake and wyvern'sfire are so unbelievably satisfying. It's super fun parrying everything and following up with a high MV stab and even higher MV slam. broken nah. And finally, the ultimate, definite, totally unbiased, best weapon in MHW: A fair number of weapons got shafted while others got giga buffed in mhgu. It just lacks the style and sophistication that the mighty doot stick has. It can't DPS like DPS centric weapons, or support like support centric weapons, or tank like tank centric weapons. But I'd say my most used weapon is probably my Gama Cannon HBG build because well explosives. These weapons always end up doing 15% (so not pulling weight) or 40% ("carrying"). Like your gunlance, a shieldless melee weapon, and if you like ranged combat - the bow or lbg. I can't remember what weapons I tried but after trying and failing with many weapons I landed on lance. Do the spinny attack three times followed by left trigger and it'll graplle onto the monster and then press Y and it'll tenderize first try. Bow, on the other hand, is the lowest at 1. I have the tradition to choose a complete new weapon to main everytime a new game/dlc gets out. The comfortable axe mode is great for general combat and breaking those high-up tails (and parts in general due to Power Axe mode,) while sword mode has some awesome damage output although you have to play it way more carefully due to the lack of mobility. Speedruns are also categorized per weapon type. I read your post but I want to give some context first. this is the most fun build for me. Just shoot the monster for 2 minutes and is dead. Most of the stuff in here is the technical weapons like charge blade, gun lance, or the bowguns. Sure it's elemental so you'll want atleast two. Highest potential is actually Switch Axe but it isn’t a practical highest dps. I'm about to have some time to kill and figured I'd start a new playthrough and use some weapons other than the CB and the bow. I'd recommend finding 2 or 3 complimentary weapons and trying to get a couple hundred hunts in each. Try all the weapons and you tell us which one you have most fun with! I’d like to give other weapons a shot but getting one set up properly takes a little time. But outside of that you're out of luck Every weapon takes time to learn and to master and all have different progressions for that and in the end its what weapon meshes best with your playstyle. Hammer and GS are also really good. 3 of my most used weapons are at the bottom of the list lol. It's also a great beginner class because most attacks are very low commitment, and Demon Mode gives you big i-frames, even though it drains your stamina. In mhw regardless of memes there are genuinely no bad weapons, play what you think is fun and you will make it effective, and if someone tries to tell you that the weapon that you are having fun with is not fun well ill just say i might be able to see a flaw in that "logic". 531K subscribers in the MonsterHunterWorld community. Also you cannot compare a speedrun environment to casual hunts, any weapon can easily keep up and do just fine. It's funny that the kinsect is the most annoying part of the insect glaive. Safest - Light Bowgun. It needed some love, they gave it more love than it needed. Hunting Horn has a mix of utility and hits relatively hard that I like. While it seems like the most simple and straightforward weapon out of all of them, the shield (which I admittedly never use), short animations, aerial capability, KO potential, and perfect rush make it arguably one of the most versatile weapons. Your friend should start with whatever weapon they find interesting. Don’t over commit your attacks. I like SNS the most because it lets me change my mind and react to things more freely. These powercrept this shit out of all melee weapons, but I'm not 100% sure if they are also better than ranged weapon s these HH song combos hit like a truck and it makes me sad when people run to play, it’s a major part of the fun and skill of the weapon to weave song combos into your damage. There is very little that comes close to this level of cheese and you should know that before arguing about this matter. My first game was MH3U. Keep in mind however that for the most part, tier lists won't really be reflective of how you'll perform with the different weapons, it only reflects how the weapons perform at the highest level where runners can deal with anything a monster throws at them regardless of the weapon they are using. Special mention to Valor LS and especially Valor HBG for being arguably the most powerful weapon/style combinations in the game. How about SnS, whose absurd move values of perfect rush let them even been HBG in some monster speedruns? Jan 25, 2019 · Buttery smooth dodging, lightning fast damage and hyperfocusing on monster patterns really pump up the adrenaline. true. SWITCH AXE: Pretty straightforward. The only downside is that it makes every other weapon feel like you’re in a wheelchair, its mobility is so good that once it’s gone you can’t Like I suspected, Long sword and Bow are the most used here, you can find them everywhere, I don't blame them those are fun weapons. Weapons in World all have bloat values rather than the true raw values. Probably the most gimped DPS wise when thrown into multiplayer since you lose monster attention and hence offensive guard uptime, and the charge combo would I love games with complex combat mechanics and Monster hunter, in my opinion, has the most engaging combat. Gunlance in MHW:IB is the strongest Gunlance has ever been in a Mainline game. With good timing, you can even parry multi hitting attacks. Jan 25, 2019 · Fun weapon 1st Place: Glave Fun weapon 2nd Place: Switch Axe Fun weapon 3rd Place: Gun Lance Weapon with the biggest pay-off: Chargeblade (Irritating at first but one you learn it probably the most sustainable and more intresting weapon concepts) Dull weapon award: Hammer (Sorry hammer users) Most hated weapon: HBG Cluster bomb users who ♥♥ In rise i kinda use all weapons, they are all fun and since monster are kinda weak and quests are easy to beat with any weapon in around 6 minutes i just change it based in my mood at tje moment Reply reply The thing is that they're the only weapons I never found interesting so nothing positive came to mind. They're strong lategame in a balance sense (low rank tends to be a slog though) and some speedrunners have done amazing jobs scripting their runs with many minute details but they're pretty much the only weapon type that is hard to sell as fun especially as someone who doesn't even play any Coinflip effectiveness. Other weapons hit harder, but also have more build up time with risk of getting hit. It is so much fun Some people say it's dual sword because you can enter demon mode and do numerous slash all over monster's face. Suprisingly fun weapon if you actually do more than just spam TCS. Since the update though I’ve been having a lot of fun with long shell gunlance; it’s like a mid-range bow with a faster charge (only one hit though) that bypasses defenses and doesn’t need the usual damage builds to be good. Great weapon totally worth the time investment. Gunlance arts are all fun: Blast Dash, Dragon Blast, and the chad move that is AA Flare. Consistent below average damage.
